Why do you serve on the board of the SMCF?

I serve on the board because I believe in giving back to this beautiful community.

 

Where else do you volunteer?

I am on the July 4th committee, a natural resources commissioner, and on the school site council at Pasadena high school. I also was the parent advisor of the Sierra Madre Middle School for six years. I also serve on Dr. Phil Zimbardo's Heroic Imagination Project board. 

 

What’s your profession? 

I am a social psychology professor.

 

What attracted you to Sierra Madre?

My husband and I found the Sierra Madre by accident. We were looking to leave Santa Monica and started driving east. Next thing you know, we were driving down Sierra Madre Blvd. and saw Heasley Field and the Sierra Madre Community Nursey school and knew we were home.

 

How long have you lived in Sierra Madre?

14 years

 

What’s your favorite aspect of the town?

I love the small-town feel; my children could walk to school, it's safe, and the mountain views

 

What’s your favorite local restaurant and why?  

I like meeting friends at Lucky Baldwin's and Wistaria. I also love our local sushi restaurant, Yui, and Corfu has the best iced tea.

 

What’s your favorite local store and why?

I love our local stores and try to shop locally for gifts and items anytime.
