Amanda Morrison

Meet Amanda Morrison (Board Member since July 2025)

Why do you serve on the board of the SMCF?

I love Sierra Madre and wanted to serve this wonderful city who has given me so much in my lifetime. I attended preschool through 12th grade within these 3 square miles.

Where else do you volunteer?

I spent 4 years volunteering for a preschool as their fundraising chair. Now, I volunteer at my daughters’ schools in Sierra Madre.

What’s your profession?

I am a Member Services Administrator for an Association Management company. My clients are in philanthropy and higher education.

What attracted you to Sierra Madre?

I’m a 3rd generation Sierra Madre resident! My Great Grandfather started a legacy in Sierra Madre in the late 1800’s. My grandfather, father and siblings all still reside in Sierra Madre. My grandfather was born in 1934 and has lived in the same home since my dad was born in 1960.

How long have you lived in Sierra Madre?

I was born here in 1989 and lived in Sierra Madre until 2017 when I relocated to Eugene, Oregon for 6 years. My husband, 3 daughters and I moved back in 2024. This wonderful place brings people back!

What’s your favorite aspect of the town?

Safety and community. Everyone looks out for each other. It’s a place our kids can walk to get ice cream and feel safe.

What’s your favorite local restaurant and why?

Our family frequents Casa Del Rey for the amazing staff, sense of community and nice outdoor dining experience. Any celebration is at Casa for us.

What’s your favorite local store and why?

This is tough, because there are so many! Since I was a kid, we always purchased our gifts from Savor The Flavor. Now it’s my daughters’ favorite store too—especially for Jelly Cat stuffed animals!
